All applications are reviewed by the IMS Board of Directors (or Executive Committee) to ensure applicants meet membership qualifications, per Indianapolis Medical Society Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws.  General membership qualifications are noted on this site.  Individual qualifications for each membership level and dues associated with are noted under each level associated with that specific application below.  Any questions regarding the application process should be directed to the Morgan Perrill, Executive Vice President, at mperrill@indymedicalsociety.org.

Membership Qualifications

Individuals who meet the following qualifications are eligible for membership in the Indianapolis Medical Society:
1. Either:
a. Holds a degree of Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Medicine, or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or
b. Is currently enrolled in an accredited School of Medicine in Indiana, and
2. Either:
a. Holds a valid, unrestricted, or probationary license to practice medicine in the State of Indiana, or
b. Legally practices medicine in Indiana under a medical license held in another state and resides at least six months per calendar year in Indiana, or
c. Currently holds a valid Indiana residency permit or Indiana medical license and is currently enrolled in a residency or fellowship program located in Indiana, or
d. Is currently enrolled in an accredited School of Medicine in Indiana, and
3. Is currently a member of good standing with the authoritative medical body, and
4. Abides by the American Medical Association (AMA) Principles of Medical Ethics, and
5. Has paid the Corporation’s annual dues obligation (dues amount and payment options can be found with each membership level in the application below).
